5 questions with… Lou Hagen

Have you ever wondered what it’s really like working at SoSafe? We sat down with Lou, the team lead for our Digital SDRs in the DACH region to talk all things life at SoSafe, her impact on cyber-security, and why no women should be worried about joining the tech industry.

Can you describe your role at SoSafe?

As the Team Lead for the Digital SDRs, I am responsible for the SDRs working with smaller companies. Most of the people in my team have little to no experience and so my main focus is getting them into Sales and making their start easier. My focus is helping them develop their skills, coaching and pushing them to become the expert on the phone.

How are you helping make an impact in cyber security?

The way I help make an impact in cybersecurity is by enabling the Digital SDRs to contact small companies to improve their Human Firewall. It might sound like a more “passive” impact, but it actually isn’t.

I went from an SDR myself to an SDR Team Lead and it is a lot of fun and very meaningful to me to enable the SDR to do a great job! I am helping the SDRs become experts, develop their skills and be the best authentic self on the phone – best impact ever!

What advice do you have for women wanting to join the tech industry?

To all the women that want to join the tech industry: Just do it. But in all seriousness; Women tend to doubt themselves or to think they are not “techy” enough or whatever else I thought before taking the leap of faith.

I come from a background in tourism and thought this was my industry for the future. But due to Covid and my business studies I found my place in the SaaS-industry and especially in Sales. So, my advice would be: Believe in yourself, make yourself aware of your skills and talents and then take the leap of faith!

Which of our 4 values do you relate to the most and why?

I can relate to all four values, which is why I feel so good at SoSafe.

But Ownership is the one value that I can relate to the most. I think it is also the value that drove my aspiration to become a Team Lead very early at SoSafe. I love taking responsibility and having my own project or now also team and to take action for this. I am very proactive to get what I want and need; it helped me as an SDR and it helps me as a Team Lead.

What do you like most about working at SoSafe?

What I like most about SoSafe is the culture, the people and the work – well I guess everything.

I have to say that it seems very idealistic and unreal but the people at SoSafe and in the SDR team are great. They are ambitious, proactive and motivated. I would say we are a healthy and professional team that works great together!
